Escape from Isolation

Well I'm not actually out of isolation, but tonight, when everyone else was in bed, and all was quiet on the ward, I was allowed out for a walk up the corridor. First things first though. I started with a nice hot bath, a change of clothes, and then out. It's not much, but it's a start, a milestone, a stepping stone, some sort of stone! Below is me walking out of my room after 32 days inside (I went in the day before transplant), me with Mum and Georgia at the nurses station (take note of the position Miss Lia & Miss Kristen), and me with one of my angels, the beautiful Nicole who was my first nurse when I arrived in Camperdown Ward a little over five months ago.

  1. Eliza, I have been reading your stories each night for the last week or so and I just think you are sooooo amazing.....a future med. student for sure! We need lots of great doctors in the bush you know.

  2. Well I must say Liza, a very nicely placed 5th position...and methinks you may have inherited those lovely 'kristen' legs that just go on and on and on!
Have you been watching SYTYCD? I think the judges comments on your 'walk' would read something like this:

Eliza, you are amazing! No matter what the challenge, you rise up & conquer with that wonderful spirit & always a smile. Lovely expression & technique - well done.

Wheelie..(your partner, the one with wheels) though you have been there to support Eliza, she has totally outshone you today. Your performance was stiff and unfeeling and we feel you are holding Eliza back. It will be good to see just what Eliza can do in the solo work.

    up, up and away Liza,

    eargerly awaiting your solo..

    luv,

    Miss Lia

  6. Hi Eliza (and Mum, Dad and Georgia)

Great job!! We follow your progress each night and have been looking forward to stepping out of that isolation room with you. :-)

I have a plan for a great extension spelling list using some of the big word words from your blog! >:-/

It is so good to see that fantastic smile of yours in these photos. We bet it makes many a person's day down there but we sure miss it around here!

Looking forward to your next installment. Take care.
